Another day to serve the Lord – what’s holding you back?
And GOOD MORNING ~ we’re back – great day to study the Word and challenge and exhort one another and encourage one another, and all the more as we see the day of God’s coming judgment approaching ~
Starting verse to think on:
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” (Galatians 6:7-9)
A Biblical devotion to go with your coffee or breakfast: we have many people who want to serve God, but they want their sin too. Well with Jesus – we can’t have both. And we are either growing closer to God and away from sin in our life, or we’re growing more in love with our sin and more an enemy of God. – There’s no other option. We’re either sitting and the tide is carrying backward into sin, *OR* we are again today fighting the current, including sins that we once walked in ~ That’s cutting edge obedience and it’s always refreshing to see in others! But, you know, that’s also vital to a leader too. The best way to know if you are following a wolf or a shepherd is notice if he/she is throwing sin out of his/her life or not – if their growing away from sin, chances are their life-style will be convicting me and you too ^_^ ~ and this same principle is true of Bible teachers as well. If he’s growing in love of sin and this world, then you can expect him to flee from wolves and go back to where they were comfortable in their sin. Oh – but the good side is: if the Bible teacher is growing away from the sins that ensnare them and are standing up to wolves, believe me – you and I won’t want to be around them when we aren’t living that same cutting edge obedience. But – WHAT A RICH FELLOWSHIP we’ll have when we are walking clean and bold like them. Those are not the showy leaders, but they are typically ones that we can run to for counsel along our way here and there
Before I go to my next point: brother, are you walking clean? What sin is preventing you from walking clean? Get it right, brother. Oh but don’t wait for mañana – get it right now! And, sister – what is holding you back from walking clean and pure today? If it’s a friend, pull back from them – a *friend* that pulls us back into our old (or new) sins is not a friend at all – they’re a walking, talking tool of satan to get us to fall. Get that right today – won’t you? Good – I’m doing the same thing I’m teaching you
Now, continuing from there – if you agree today to be a pure-walking Bible-following believer and leader (today) – guess what? Will it be easy? No,no,no. Satan will stop at nothing to continue to try to stop 1) your spiritual growth, and 2) the ministry project(s) that you are trying to do in the work of the Lord! Oh, but brother – sister, let us always continue to serve Him in all things with love, boldness, fear, *and* humility. He cannot use a tainted vessel as much as a clean one. So, today, let’s strive to be a clean vessel. I pray that this teaching encourage you as it is what God is teaching me. ~ God bless you as you seek and serve Him today! ~ Pray for me – I’m praying for you. ~ a growing brother, servant/life-slave of Jesus, SH ^_^
